The University of Gondar, in cooperation with the University of Vienna (Austria), the IVOCAT Legal Services and the GIZ, will host from the 13th to the 17th of August a 5-day training seminar for data stewardship and e-infrastructures in order to assist representatives from libraries, research services and IT services in the establishment of digital infrastructures and research support services.
The main goal is to prepare the Ethiopian University Libraries to get ready to use their digital infrastructure as well as to organize the knowledge at management centres/research support units to provide the latest data and information to researchers, lecturers and students.
The lectures will cover technical, organisational and legal themes. They will act as a supplement to existing educational opportunities and will encourage the exchange of knowledge in the areas of research data management, data stewardship and workflows of research processes and digital archiving.
The training seminar is designed primarily for individuals from a network of partner institutions working in library services, research services, IT services and legal services who are already engaged in the long-term development of institutional e-infrastructures and research data management
services, and who could be valuable contacts for the future.
